The facelift model from the South Korean carmaker offers a host of updates in design, features, and engine.
Features:
The new Verna 2020 comes equipped with a total of 12 segment-first features such as Blue Link connectivity, front ventilated seats, digital cluster with 10.67 cm colour TFT MID, wireless phone charger, Smart Trunk, Arkamys sound system, Driver Rear View Monitor (DRVM), ECO coating, among others. Other feature highlights include Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), an eight-inch infotainment screen, electric sunroof etc.
In terms of safety, both regular and turbo-petrol variants get rear parking sensors, dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard. Hyundai also offers a rear parking camera, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill Start Assist Control (HSAC) in the higher variants of the sedan.

Interiors:
The biggest change inside is the theme of the cabin. The AC vents in the standard petrol variants are finished in chrome whereas those in the turbo-petrol variant come with red accents. The turbo-petrol variant also sports red stitching on the seats, steering cover and gear knob while the regular variants get black and beige coloured seat fabrics. While the regular petrol variants get dual-tone interiors, the sportier variant of the sedan is offered with an all-black interior featuring highlighting accents.

Engine:
Hyundai has replaced all the old 1.6-litre and 1.4-litre petrol and diesel units on the Verna with a new set of BS6-compliant ones. The new set of engines come in the form of a 1.5-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel offering. Both 1.5-litre engines, petrol and diesel, have been borrowed from the Kia Seltos and also power the Hyundai Creta SUV.
The 1.5-litre diesel variant with automatic transmission gives a mileage of 21.3km/l, and the diesel-manual variants of the Verna offer an exceptional fuel efficiency of 25km/l. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre petrol engine on the Verna gives a fuel economy of 17.7km/l and 18.4km/l with the manual and automatic transmission units, respectively. Finally, the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol which is offered with an automatic transmission as standard gives 19.2km/l fuel efficiency.
The 1.5-litre diesel churns out 115bhp and 250Nm of peak torque, while the 1.5-litre petrol produces 115bhp and 144Nm of torque. Both engines are available in a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission unit. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, on the other hand, produces an impressive 120bhp and 170Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission as standard.

Exterior Design:
The new Verna has the same proportions as the outgoing model which means it has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, is 1,475 mm tall, 1,729 mm in width and has an overall length of 4,440 mm. The car now gets a dark chrome radiator grille at the front along with redesigned LED headlights while the turbo variant is uniquely characterized by twin-tip muffler, glossy black grille and all-black interiors. The R16 dual tone-styled steel wheel and new diamond cut alloys add to the sporty looks. Apart from the base-spec S variant (halogen lamps), all other variants get LED headlamps with LED DRLs and tail lamps.
Hyundai claims that Verna is India's first fully connected mid-sized sedan. The Hyundai Verna facelift is available in 11 variant and three engine options. The Hyundai Verna is available in six colour options - phantom black, polar white, typhoon silver, fiery red, titan grey, and starry night.
