Kia has commenced selling its cars online and deliver them to homes or offices when ready. Covid19 led lockdown has necessitated companies to start taking bookings online and deliver car to homes. In the long run, this can have significant mpact on how cars are bought or sold. While car research used to happen online, but now booking and delivery of cars will also start happening online more & more. This may make car dealerships redundant to some extent in the years to come,

Customers may now request to have test drive online and get test drive at their home or office according to their convenience. Both the Carnival and the Seltos are offered for a test drive. Customer may then book the car to buy the car after choosing the variant, colour, accessories, and preferred dealership.

Those who have booked the car will be kept updated on the status of their booking via an online dashboard. Company officials will also get in touch regarding finance options. After the loan gets approved, the purchase is reviewed by the customer and a delivery date and time is selected. The company claims to sanitize the vehicles before delivering them to the customers.

Kia presently has two models on sale in India - the Kia Seltos SUV and the Kia Carnival MPV. Kia Seltos competes with Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector, and Tata Harrier. The company is expected to launch the Sonet compact SUV later this year (2020). Kia Sonet is expected to compete with Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Mahindra XUV300.

A Gurugram-based family man has shared photos of his home-delivered Kia Seltos. The model is the HTX 1.5 CVT variant, powered by a 1.5-litre petrol motor producing 114BHP of power and 144Nm of torque.

Kia Seltos is also available with a 1.5-litre diesel engine, which is capable of producing 114BHP of power and 250Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is capable of producing 138BHP of power and 242Nm of torque. 6-speed manual gearbox for power transmission comes as standard, while a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit with the diesel variants & a 7-speed DCT unit are available with petrol variants.
